Embrace “Springter” Weather

By Lauren MacDermid, April, 2018

As Mother Nature thaws the earth and green buds begin to sprout, the weather looks a lot like “springter”. Springter is a word our team at JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka has coined, to describe a season where winter welcomes spring with warmer temperatures and brighter days.

At The Rosseau there are many ways to enjoy Springter:

Maple Syrup

Embrace Muskoka’s maple syrup season!

At this time of year, the Chefs at JW Marriott take their inspiration from Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm, using fresh maple syrup for their spring menu at Lakes Lobby Bar. Guests can enjoy a Muskoka Maple Sour before dinner, followed by the Maple Cranberry Salad with maple chili pecans and a Maple Bourbon BBQ Burger.  Finish on a sweet note with Maple Earl Grey Crème Brulée, so good! Starting March 9th, visit on a Saturday and experience a maple syrup tour, tap and taste demonstration from 12 – 1pm (open to the public). Enhance your maple inspired stay with the exquisite aromatic qualities of the Canadian sugar maple at Spa Rosseau. Refresh and rejuvenate with a Maple Season Ritual massage and bath or Maple Body Experience scrub and express facial. If you still can’t get enough, visit a local sugar bush. Check out the list on the Muskoka Maple trail to take home a bottle of the sweet stuff.

Spa

Reconnect with Mind, Body and Soul

Spring is the perfect time to slow it down and focus on you. That is why April’s theme is all about mental and physical health. The new spring recreation guide has a specific wellness theme each weekend with a variety of wellness activities mixed in mid-week. Go for a guided nature walk, practice family yoga, try out an adult paint night or appreciate the moment with astronomy. Round out your wellness getaway with a visit to Spa Rosseau for a hot stone massage, facial or new Hydrospa. The Hydrospa has an oxygen bar, oxygen facial, H20 bed and massage chairs perfect for muscle ache relief and stress reduction.

Biking Trails

Get outside – On foot or fat bike

As the temperatures warm up and the days get longer, go for a hike at nearby Hardy Lake Trail, Torrance Barrens, Huckleberry Rock or Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh. Early spring temperatures usually mean no bugs! If you’d like to add a little exercise to your day, try out the resort’s new fat bikes! Extra wide tires enable cyclists to ride on a variety of terrain including snow, mud, gravel and pavement for a whole new perspective of the property.

Whether you are looking for a Wellness Focused stay, Couples Retreat or Family Getaway The Rosseau has a variety of packages for you.

See you this Springter on Lake Rosseau!
